Believe it or not yes I do. I have no tablet, just mouse and Paint.
Usually what I do is do some curvy lines but edit them till it fits the anatomy/body. If you know what to picture about, then it's easier to sprite it. Plus with bigger size, no limitations since most pixel arts makes you sacrifice details.
