August 2007, I posted a ref sheet of sorts of an OC named Ota-Kun, who was a girl who was a massive nerd and ran around with a staff and eventually she somehow became the owner of a big apartment complex in pseudo-Japan that had a bunch of weird people living in it. It wasn't until October same year that I posted a second person living there though and since I've only added around 10 people, some of which has been removed because I didn't really like them. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Ota-Kun eventually became the major minor characters alongside the male lead character, Itsumo Izumo for a project I later dubbed NICKNAMES (yes, in all caps) which was a slife-of-life comedy manga with culture refences I wanted to do. It was mainly about Izumo's daily life, being a student, while having to deal with the other residents, all with nicknames based around either their hobbies or personality traits. In all these years I only ever did one page and a decent chunk of writing on paper (most of which were scripts I had for chapters that I've never shared).

While the project will probably never be revived in any shape or form, the two leads are still very dear to my heart. While I never originally never intended them to become a couple, over the years I grew more fond of the idea of them eventually getting together. It probably would be super tacky what I had in mind, but I don't give a damn, they're my characters and sometimes I just really like tacky shit.
