Having stumbled into this from someone's favourites, I don't know what your loss was, but whatever form it took, you have my sympathies, and I hope you're doing well these days.
That being said, this is a very, very atmospheric image, I love the red string, and the unanswered questions it raises. I also enjoy the extremely stark look of these revenants, makes it clear without context that they're not ordinary animals. :3
