Still playing with the brown paper. A new STriped Hyena character, Baron Samdi. I like the idea of a hyena having wshite skull markings:) 6x 10 Pencil and coloured pencil on brown paper. I expect you'll be seeing more of him soon:)

According to Wiki, the Baron wears a white top hat, black tux, dark glasses and nose plugs. (In your place I'd skip the nose plugs.) Baron Samedi is the loa of death, resurrection and sex; he's fond of rum and smokes. (Well cancer can hardly claim him!) In other words, this guy... erh, god's a real party dude! Good choice for the furry treatment, Heather.

Some years ago there was a book series by Phillip Jose Farmer titled, "The Dungeon", in which Baron Samedi played a fairly large role. I'm not sure if it's even in print still but it was a great read and might be worth stalking the used book stores in your area for them.

Very nice. I'm a bit biased, but hyenas (striped or spotted, or aardvolves) make very cool anthro's.

If he's like the real, Vodoun Baron Sam, does that mean your 'yena is a boozing, foul-mouthed, womanizer?

That said (going OT here) Vodoun does have one for-real "furry" god/lwa in Bossou, The Bull.
