A true 'Dawn' form isnt confirmed. And they've never used previously available evolution methods for new branches to existing lines. Theyd have to explain why it wouldnt work before.

yes but cottonee --sun stone--> whimsicott was a brand new evolution, its not like cottonee was introduced after sun stone was, and then a gen later whimsicott was added. A brand new BRANCH (not a whole new line) using an old item is what is hard to explain.
