Opinions will vary.
Both programs have quite the steep learning curve, but I've only ever used Zbrush for sculpting myself - the interface of Blender kept putting me off no matter how many times I tried learning it.

Aaahah yeah, the whole saving for projects, tools, and images takes some getting used to. A lot of getting used to actually.
Going to the Tool panel on the right then Save As will save the object you're working on, File -> Save As (or ctrl-S) will save the session as a ZPR file (such as layout and etc, not just the current tool you're working on)
I have a few diff books on zbrush, one good "Basics" one is https://www.amazon.com/Getting-Star...../dp/0415705142 ^^
