Today, Haruo Nakajima died at the age of 88. He played Godzilla for the first twelve straight movies, from the 1954 original up to Godzilla vs Gigan. He also played Rodan, Mothra, Varan, Gira, and Baragon in their respective movies. It is a very sad day for kaiju fans everywhere, myself included.
Rest in Peace, Haruo Nakajima. You have entertained movie goers and kaiju fans all over the world for over 60 years and will continue to for decades to come. Your legacy will never die.
