I wrote and performed this parody song in honor of Rapid T. Rabbit's 30th anniversary using the voice of Potential Fox, and debuted it with the Potential puppet when I appeared as a guest on his show in 2014. Now, after his passing, I feel that the song's lyrics can hold the same meaning to remember him the way he was to all of us, and how much we all loved and admired him for his performances, his participation in the Doodah Parade, and just how everyone who knew him loved and admired him for the amazing person that he was. No words will ever express how I feel right now for Rapid T. Rabbit's passing, for he took away more than just a person, more than a performer....he was a friend of the heart and soul, one who always showed a lot of care and a lot of joy to anyone and everyone around him. He truly made New York and the world a brighter place, and when you lose someone like that, it's just so very hard to imagine life without him. I will never forget him, for my heart and soul refuses to let those fond memories of him perish. I hope this song speaks the same message for everyone else out there, because when he expressed himself, he always did it hoppin' to keep us hoppin' happy.
You Did It Hopping
Sung to the tune of My Way by Frank Sinatra
Parody lyrics written by Brett "SonicBlu" Blumfield
from the album: Voices in my Head
Dedicated to Rapid T. Rabbit
It's been for thirty years
That you have made your entertainment
For years, you made us laugh
Until we cried without containment
You've filled us full of puns
With silly jokes you kept on dropping
And how we loved them all, you did it hopping
Events we've seen you do
From Brooklyn Park right to the Doodah
You loved the carousels, you rode them all without a hee-haw
You've spread your happiness, when we all smiled, we sure weren't stopping
And how we love you so, you did it hopping
Yes we had fun, I'm sure we did
From grown adults, to young and old kids
You made New York a brighter place
Not one of us kept a sad face
You've helped us all, and we recall, you did it hopping
We've laughed, until we cried
And when we cried, you kept us laughing
And now, you're still as good, your happiness is never baffling
I think you did just great
When Cuppy's cup was loose and dropping
But still, the show went on, you did it hopping
So, what could we do for your salute
If not this song, how 'bout some dried fruit?
But carrots are your food of choice, if you had some, you would rejoice
Watch where you go, OW! that was my toe, you crushed it hopping
You did it hopping.
We all love you, Rapid T. Rabbit.

I can agree on that because when I did watch his show, a few episodes, a few years back, I didn't sense any negative vibes from him, which was a really good quality. I just wish more people like you and like him had positive vibes. I hear all about shootings, lootings (especially after major weather events like hurricanes), pedophilia, abuse, and other things that people can do despicable acts on.
Yes sometimes it's entertainment to watch, I have to admit... not good entertainment, but it's something to pass the time on. I'm going off on a tangent here though, but I have to tell you that I am not a bad person although I watch bad things, I mean I do see this on TV, but would I act upon this? NO! I'm a plushophile for a reason - because I don't want to hurt people, and my only purpose on this Earth is for me to love. I am sure that RTR was a plushophile, but he kept it a secret. I didn't ever ask him... maybe I should have asked him.
