My first attempt to do 2D animation in Onion Skin Style. Tried it out just for fun, making my Character Ryelos play an all-familiar game.
Know that i love old games. Maybe not all retro, but i do love me some old Mario. A good portion of all my games are Older than me, or at least as old as me! In my Opinion, most older games just have a better Storyline, Functionality or similar, some older games just have the right complexity, some old games never get boring to play. I dont say that i dislike newer Games, i just have this thing for older games.
An example is Pokemon. My favorite Pokèmon version is Emerald, my favorite Mario is the original from 1985. My favorite Metroid is the old Metroid Prime for the Gamecube, while my favorite Metal gear Solid game is Metal Gear Solid 1 and 2.
I wanted to try out Onion Skin for the first time, and i came to the conclusion that Ryelos needs to try out Super Mario Deluxe, and since then, he speedruns it like a PRO!

Its always good to hear the younger generations can still enjoy games I grew up with. If you get the chance I STRONGLY suggest playing any retro games on the SNES. SNES was the best system ever made. My opinion of course. NES was good but the SNES really paved the way to what gaming is today. Really showed that music, story, and solid gameplay could lead to bigger things in gaming.
As a matter of fact, I've played some Games for the SNES,some Emulated, some on 3DS (If i am not confusing anything). Yeah... it was all better back then. New games were actually groundbreaking, every new console provided something new that blew everyone's minds, but nowadays everything just seems to be the same over and over again. Like,we're at the peak of graphics. We cant get up more. And the contents are all the same. Meh.
A fun fact,my favourite console of essentially all times is the GameCube. Man, this thing existed next to the Gameboy Advance with its pixel graphics... and most of its games have graphics that even some of today's games dont reach. And every single game i got for it was pure, unadulterated and simple fun... and to be completely honest, Pokemon XD on Gamecube already had 90% of all features that todays pokemon games have. And this thing came out 15 years ago.

Keep in mind that gaming back then wasn't a cash cow that was being milked as it is today. Many publishers today are in it solely because they know gaming is popular and is guaranteed to make money. Nintendo is run by gamers themselves that understand that its about the games and their customers. Where as publishers like EA Activision Ubisoft only care about one thing and that's making money and only care about your wallet. I'll be honest, most of the games I buy anymore are indie games made by people who have the freedom to simply...make a game they enjoy building for other to enjoy.
