Twice as Sweet (Original art and character for sale)
Back in June I started a monthly subscription to Scrawlrbox, which delivers various art supplies to your door for you to try out. That month's box contained a set of Chameleon markers. I'd heard about them before but this was my first time trying them out, and if you follow my Facebook page you already know I wasn't in love with them. >u< I'm sure they're great for those who typically blend marker-to-marker, but I use pencils for blending and shading mostly and I found a lot of issues arose when trying to cover larger areas. Plus, waiting to mate the pens each time I needed to transition colors really slowed things down. My final thoughts: Not for me, but maybe great for people who casually color in those adult coloring books.
But, I wanted to at least give making some art with them a serious shot, so I had this whole series of cute, dessert-themed chibi characters I was going to make using the new pens. I started, did this one (the theme being chocolate-covered cherries), and then pretty much lost all motivation for the rest of the week and ended up not finishing any of the other three I'd planned to make. I was worn out from all the small commissions I did last month and really wanted to just NOT do any art for a few days. So, this guy is a one-of-a-kind.
The original is for sale for $40.00, plus shipping. Size is appx. 6"x 8" (half sheet, basically) and if you buy the piece, you also get the character, which is unnamed and created just for this piece. He's a skunk, and a rather cute one, and I think he'd look really nice drawn anthro sometime. Or, if you just like the piece and want to buy it for the art and have no intention of doing anything with the character, that's fine too. I just don't really have a use for the image and would rather offer it up to a good home, since if I keep it here it's just going to sit buried in a pile of papers.
