The Hero is sort of an amalgam of RPG hero tropes: Spiky hair, obnoxious haircut, swords, bad fashion sense, non-sensical build that doesn't denote his actual strength...That sort of thing. But where as most heroes tend to either mope about their pasts, or beat around the bush when faced with their love interest(and actually get all horndog on anyone that ISN'T her), the Hero is simply a complete and total jerk. He's the leader, and what he says goes, even if it involves abandoning somebody else in the party, or selling useful items for other characters just so he can buy better stuff for himself.
For some reason though, the Hero seems to only pick on the Magician, possibly because he sees her as being pretty useless, so she's usually the first to be used as a handy meat shield or lure, and the last to receive any sort of benefits. She complains about it, sure but the rest of the party only seems to encourage it. They practically worship the ground the cocky jerk walks on...
