Nice big seats, widely spaced pedals, and a big screen make this game one of the more easy ones to play at the arcade.

I'm glad there's one more furry that agrees with me! I'm just tremendously disappointed with Sega. Daytona USA is such a breath of fresh air compared to many racing games today that are either too sim-oriented (Forza, GT), too nonchalant (Mario Kart), or too ridiculous (Burnout, NFS).
I'm glad to get Sega All-Stars Racing (I refuse to mention Sonic), Outrun 2, the XBL/PSN ports, Initial D stage whatever, the new Model 2 and 3 emulators. But I want more. These games should be the norm, not the aberration.
Have you ever heard of The 90's Arcade Racer and Drift Stage? Two indie games coming out that are clearly influenced by Sega games like Daytona!

First I've heard of them. But the ideas for both sound amazing. As for my love for Daytona USA. Well, its pretty Nostalgic. When I was a lad, my family always liked to head out Karting and such. We always when to this one place, Fast Eddies, they had an arcade and there was always a Daytona cabinet, the two player version. So whenever I had tokens on hand.
I've only finally got to play Daytona USA 2 once, earlier this year actually. During a vacation in Orlando, the inn I stayed at had a small arcade on the first floor and I remember my jaw dropping when I saw they had Daytona II: Power Edition. So I got a token played, and while the cabinet hadn't been very well-maintained so there were some graphical glitches. It was still an amazing experience.
