People sometimes are just really cheap and don't want to pay any money for artwork even if it's worth it. It's really crappy but I've seen artists who should've been charging at least $50 charge $20 and people still won't commission them. Try advertising your characters or artwork on Facebook, you'll get a lot more interest there!
