This is really good! I really like how your incorporate your style in with this vignette, it works really well. Of course, you know how to write good metaphors and complex prose, but it's great to see that you balance this with simple sentences too, that are by no means a detraction from the others. In fact they're quite necessary! I once got advice that if you go big with the metaphors, so to speak, without anything to put them into context with, you lose their impact, so I'm happy to see you applying this already. Keep it up, and hopefully, I'll see you popping up in some furry publications, I hope!
