Apparently my basement is 20% cooler, and I didn't even need to turn on the AC! =^^=
Iwas hoping to have pictures of this one outside at the garage sale this year. However, she was apparently slacking off, and it rained for the first couple hours! So, instead of setting up down on the driveway, I had my garage sale... In the garage! What level of crazy is that?
Apparently, she can also turn invisible, because it was impressive how many folks missed the giant bright blue pony sitting behind me until I pointed her out! =^^=

Sadly, that is the case, the deepest colors are really stiff and are cracking off. Her main body is holding up ok, but only the violet part of her rainbow areas are holding on decently. I may need to do a little research to see if there is another vinyl paint I could apply to smooth things over.

A lot of the negative critique I think comes from people who have had their designs copied by Hongyi. They and their friends seem to be the most vocal of the detractors of the company. And I have to admit, fair enough, if one is selling a unique product, and someone makes a clone...
As for looks, Hongyi can be hit or miss. They have the MLP characters, and ponysonas down to a science! If you google Hongyi Toys, you can find their website, they really have some great looking toys, and a couple abominations as well... (Rule 34 is a terrible thing =^^; ) If you see something made in their factory, odds are what you see is what you will get. I got a couple clone characters in smaller scale from them and I do admit that the originals looked better. However, if someone knew how to wirk with them to make a design, the results have been outstanding. (I love my Lucario, Drgnalexia did the design and it came out incredible. I'm not sure if he gave them permission to mass produce it, but technically, all the MLP and pokemons are licenced and not necessarily free to use designs.
Paint issues: In some ways this almost boils down to personal taste. The flaking is not a good thing, period. I do recall that another person here fixed major seam splits with added material. He used vinyl paint available in the auto superstore to somewhat match the original color. In Dashie's case, to do the job right will require stripping off the old paint. (Which is her mane and tail) And then masking off and redoing the affected sections. I do not feel comfortable in doing that. Were this an American company, I would have probably sent the toy back and had them fix the issue. But since this is China we are talking about where shipping each way is over $100, I'll live with it as-is. Now this brings us to the issue of seams. In my toys from other makers, it looks like they painted over the seams, pretty much hiding them in color. Hongyi does not do that. But frankly, I like the seam lines, it adds an additional layer of "texture" to the toy. (And gives me clues into how it was assembled if I would ever dare to try my hand at making a design... =^^=
One note: Take care on Dashie's wings, like most inflatable critters, where they join the body, they are a weak spot that can get stressed over time. I was actually tempted to have them make me a wingless, albino Dashie to lounge on, dodging almost all issues I've seen with the original. Interestingly enough, her wings did spring a leak, but at the tip of the wing ribs. It is a small thing to fix, but I think I will be careful how much pressure I put in them from now on.
Which size Dashie were you looking at? Mine is the 4m size and borders on the impractical! =^^=+

I must admit, the Goodra was the first thing I ever ordered from them. By far, she is the golden standard by which I measure all others. She is the basic Goodra design without any other add-ons like wings or other things. Her paint is perfect, even after a year. One of her arms finally sprang a slow leak. That is going to take a while to find. Had I known at the time, I would have tweaked the placement of her valves. In all honesty, I'm kinda surprised in the difference in quality versus the other toys I have gotten from them.
This guy (Heath Dragon) https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC-.....Rv0q0DXhvOiUxw has some good info about caring for inflatables. Dr. Noah Buddy here repaired a catastrophic seam failure on a PP Zenith dragon. The biggest things I have learned is be careful with oils coming in contact with the material. That includes skin oils. Long term exposure to sunlight will also cause damage as well. One day at the beach is Ok, but outside in the Arizona sun for a week...
I just got in a skunk. This one is all black. On the plus side, the paint seems flexible and is adhering well to the toy. On the downside, it does look like some did get scraped off diuring shipping. There are a few marks on the white stripes. Other than that she looks great! Will post pics eventually when I figure out a scanario for her to be in.
Sizing is almost weird... I've gotten things both larger and smaller than expected. A good rule of thumb: Standing toys, the size will be the height. Laying or crouching toys, the size will be the overall length, from front paws to tail tip.
A dirty trick for guesstimation is to find a graphics program that overlays a grid on top of the picture. Then give a "size to each square, say one foot. If a toy is then six squares long, and three tall, that will be its height and width when you get it. I use Corel Photo paint. It lets me resize the photo, so I can stretch it to the desired number of squares, that way I can get a handle on the other dimensions of the toy. It is cheeseball and imprecise, but it gets you into the ballpark!
Tell me how she turns out! =^^=

No problem at all, glad she came out great! =^^=
Just watch the wing inflation, I think I put in too much pressure and it started a pinhole leak...
Like I said, their sizing is weird sometimes... I was really tempted to order my skunk at 4m size, but I'm really glad I did not, I like her the way she is. I hear you on shipping. DHL in the US is demanding a signature for delivery, and it took me a couple days and tries to figure out how to release a packet when I was not at home.
I hope you have a lot of fun with Dashie, and if you can make some great sight gags with a little creative posing, please post them! =^^=
