Shrubie yelped as she suddenly lost her balance, flailing to try to grab something to keep herself upright.
Her paws found only air, however, and she fell to her back in the gritty sand. Shaking her head, the
white vixen looked down to see what had caused her sudden fall, and she gaped as she saw her legs – or
rather where her legs should have been.
Instead of her legs and tail, she found herself looking down at a large, white-scaled fish’s tail! It
extended smoothly from her upper body, through one leg of her bikini, and ended in two large,
horizontal fins. From those fins up to where the new tail merged with her body, the white scales
glistered in the sunlight. Each individual scale shone with a magnificent, pearlescent sheen, turning the
gold of the sun’s rays into a muted rainbow of color that was strikingly beautiful. Even past where the
new tail had begun, scales seemed now interspersed with her fur. They lent flashes of color to her white
coat, prismatic properties causing their colors to shift and sparkle before the eyes of any who looked on.
The shocked vixen continued to take in the sight of her altered form, realizing in horror that her fine
fluffy tail was gone, replaced entirely by whatever magic had altered her legs into a mermaid’s tail.
