Finally whipped these guys up a proper species sheet
after YEARS of never getting to it. These are more Loa species!
This is as close as it gets to "humanoid" shape in their world.

✨ What are Pinelings? ✨
Pineling are a fictional marsupial like species that take place in the world of Loa!
Also known as captidons. They're the only creature within Loa with a loosely
humanoid shape.

✨ Appearances ✨
Pinelings stand to about 4-5ft tall and can weigh around 130-200lbs. Since
they're marsupials, females have pouches to carry their young!
They sport four arms with dexterous hands. With these hands, Pinelings are
talented crafters. From forging armor, crafting jewelry or building homes.
Southern pinelings may have differences from their northern brethren, such as
straighter ears, a shorter fur coat, and their hooves seem to even be in three
segments rather than the single split.
Their tails are long and great for balance. About midway down, their bone
structure becomes more flexible and allows for somewhat prehensile movement.
If you're to find a pineling with docked ears, this might mean they were owned.
This trait has become rare to find as it seems to be part of their religion as well.
They also tend to wear painted symbols on their coat to represent their
place of origin.

✨ General temperament ✨
Though this varies from creature to creature, for the most part, they're slow
going and docile creatures. Some say they traded their offensive abilities in
turn for amazing dexterity and ability to create great structures.
Pinelings are known for being greatly religious. Celebrating their gods (Ahtoa,
the main creator of their world and key to paradise) through large
get-togethers and gifting one another in their handmade gifts!

✨ Diet ✨
Pinelings are omnivores but seem partial to mainly fruits and
vegetables. They also have a robust digestive system which allows
them to break down tougher plant material from bamboo and roots.
They’re able to consume small animals but due to their religious
choices, they swear off such things. It wouldn’t be too uncommon
to find a Pineling munching on a grasshopper if it was hungry
enough though.
Being sentient has brought a new world of preparing food into
their world. They’re past the stage of discovering fire so they’re
able to prepare fairly complex meals if they obtain the knowledge.

✨ Region ✨
It is thought that Pineling originated from Woven dreams island and
Malumdi. Both locations share a similar redwood like biome they
seem to take to the best!

✨ Vocalizations ✨
From bleats, mooing, cooing, snorts, elk like bellows or bugles.
They have a fairly wide array of wild vocalizations but like all
other lifeforms on Loa, they speak Avarian. Bleats are often
a sound portraying happiness while cooing is aimed towards
the fawns or Ill.

✨ Divines ✨
As explained in previous posts and the comic page, these creatures exist on
the planet, Loa. A world crafted by Ahtoa and his assisting gods and
goddesses, like:
🌟 Shikyo, their closes companion which helps weave the galaxy along their side.
🌟 Yatherus - Goddess of the seas. Imagined as a fantastical sea serpent
who formed the rivers and lakes. It's believed Yatherus tried to split apart the
continent long ago (see map - the enormous river which splits north to south)
Now the grand river is thought to be as deep as the ocean.
🌟 Rohdon - god of the land. Imagined as a crocodile carrying a series of volcanos
along it's back. Rohdon is thought to have been the one to create Boskavhins volcanos.
Some even say the volcanos are Rohdon himself, he is merely hiding under the
planet's crust.
🌟 Faymeera - Goddess of spring and fertility. She is believed to appear as a
peacock spirit.
🌟 Seh'vo - god of summer and droughts. Said to be a Smilodon. Some believe
he embodies the sun, moving further or closer as he wishes.
🌟 Fuarus - goddess of the fall. Believed to appear as a red fox. Some believe
she is in love with Auhbrus, the god of the underworld.
🌟 Auhbrus - God of the underworld and bringer of death. Seen as an evil spirit,
however, some believe he is kind and only doing what Ahtoa had told him to.
Some say if you fall into the crevice of Decluna, you will fall straight to the portal
to the spirit world.
🌟 Zyne - Goddess of strength. She is believed to appear as a pale wolf with
red painted markings.

✨ World ✨
Unlike Earth, the creatures on Loa have the same great intelligence across the kingdom.
Dragons, canines, equines and more share a similar awareness to that of semi-primitive
humans, gifting them the ability to create civilizations up to a somewhat tribal level.
With this intelligence, they've formed clans and empires with varying laws, goals and
conflicts.
Unfortunately for many, their wits also brought forth malicious intentions and war.
During the Great War, pinelings were captured from their territories and made into
workers to build armors, towns and weapons for those clans.
Since they're generally passive, they chose to do as they're told and remain
neutral as best they can. They're told at a young age if they were to leave the
pacifist life, Ahtoa would never allow them into paradise.

✨ Species notes ✨
🌿 Males pinelings are referred to as bucks (most common), bulls, stags,\
stallions (usually a flirtatious compliment) and even dogs (usually as insult).
🌿 Females are doe (most common), mare, ewe, and sow (insult).
🌿 Children are referred to as welps, joeys, lambs, calf, foal and fawn.
🌿 3 fingers and thumbs for southern pinelings and 4 fingers and
thumbs for northern.
🌿 Their tail is able to hold up twice their weight.
🌿 Elders are referred to as goats or rams.
🌿 Their jawset varies from region to region, but they all seem to
resemble either kangaroos, rodents or deer. Some may have an upper
set of teeth while others have a dental pad.
🌿 Primitive pinelings used to butt heads for mating rights but these
days with their sentient nature and evolution, they seem to lean to
proposing fine crafts for their love interest. This can range from small
jewelry to entire structures.

There is much more about them to share, but due to spoilers, I can't really share
them here yet. Hopefully, soon I'll be able to release their complex sheet and
ore for others to see. ^_^

Even though these aren't technically a fandom species, I don't mind if people
make their own Pinelings!
