(ORIGINAL SOLD)
The caracal is such an interesting wild cat, their leaping and bird catching capabilities are very impressive! :) It's fun to paint big cats, but sometimes the little guys need the spot light. This drawing was made during the Zooly Art Challenge, and then I turned it into a final painting.
Created on birch wood panel entirely in watercolour (with a daniel smith transparent gesso base) and a few acrylic highlights. A very shiny piece in person! I painted with real gold leaf on the background, and iridescent watercolour pigments. Flakes of gold leaf shine vibrantly in the caracal's eyes.
This artwork is 1" thick so you can display it on a desk, but if you prefer their is hanging hardware on the back to display on a wall. Final size 5"x7".
