Now for why this picture is so important... and why there are two different versions.
First of all, I know she has the fake and bake type tan. Blame that on my own colourblindness to not be able to grab the right light colour unless I hold them next to each other. I picked up the wrong one. Other than that, I hope you like the picture. I based it on one of my own:

Now... If you can find a way to... Look at the one on the left... focus on it... cover up the b&w if you need to... Remember what she looks like...
Now... If you can find a way to... Look at the one on the right... focus on it... cover up the colooured one if you need to...
... Now imagine if thats how you saw the world. First... for 17 years of your life, you had colour. And then... a drunk with a bat decides to hit you in the head and you lose the ability to see colour cause of the damage. Any colour. Your world is reduced to grayscale...
I had to write on the back, all the colours. The hair, the eyes, the shirt, even what colour the swirlys are... Becasue without it, I could have coloured the hair lavender, the skin light green the shirt red, and the background light brown and sky blue. He'd never know the difference. But I send him these pictures, I colour things for him... just so that... just in case maybe one day... maybe one day he gets his colours back.
My pup, my baby boy... this is for you.

The face looks a bit wide considering having to reduce the chin size to fit an anime-like style. Even if you do base your drawings off of a picture, try and structure the picture as a drawing.
.. And I'm so sorry to hear that story. I've always hated drinking... It brings out nothing but the worst in people.
The damage should eventually heal.. I hope.

Aaah, I've known a few people that were color blind, but not completely grayscale. I do, however, have an artist friend who has to write down which colors are orange, pink, and certain reds cuz he cant tell the difference. I also have a friend who cant see green, which I think is just a tragedy. U__U I also have an uncle who cant see blue and purple. B ut...life in grayscale would be horrid.
