Today (August 21, 2006) marks five years since my boyfriend, Ash, completed his probation. This means that he can now go back to court to attempt to get his charges reduced (to misdemeanors) and he can petition for his voting and gun rights back. So, in celebration, I folded him a cicada. Cicada larvae molt and the cicada adults can fly and made really pretty sounds. I wrote the date and "Freedom" in Japanese on the front of it with silver gelly roll and on the back I wrote, "Kyou kara jiyuu na hito ni naru. <3 shi." (From today you are now a free person. Love, Heather.) ^__^
