I printed
BBD's cute plane in five parts, now they're all ready for priming and painting!
Commentary:
1) The fuselage was printed in two parts (you can see the seam, it's just to the fore of the wing struts) and bonded with CA glue. Even with the print split for maximum printability, there were some gnarly overhangs on the horizontal and vertical stabilizers. The seam area and the rough overhangs got hit with some 100-grit sandpaper, then smoothed with Tamiya files. The files were definitely not necessary since everything's about to get slapped with heavy loads of primer.
2) The wheel struts were just too small and weird to print, so I deleted them from existence! I flattened out one side of the wheel parts so they'd have a flat surface for the print bed. Maybe I'll adhere them to the fuselage with epoxy putty? I don't know yet.
3) I spent a loooooong time trying to remember how to select faces in Blender so I could extrude the propeller blades and make them more printable. I shouldn't have bothered because it's so tiny anyway, none of my adjustments matter!
