I couldn't get to bed until I figured out how to make a proper-looking braid on the business card. It throws off the whole use of textiles when the actual bars on the card are just a plain gradient instead of actual embroidered rope braid.
Taking a picture of a set of epaulettes, I cut out a section that just showcased the rope braid. Using the Rotation, Perspective, and Shear tools, I modified the picture so the epaulette braids are (as) exactly vertical (as I can make them). Took out a chunk of the braid, desaturated it, then modified it to tile vertically. After that, I did a few blurs and modifications to the middle of the tiled pattern to essentially make it look like a continuous braid of rope when the pattern is tiled.
Once satisfied, I added a strip of the pattern atop the colored section and modified the layer to 'Overlay,' or another setting that works fine. Its current setting works well with cyan, red, purple, and green. Doesn't work quite well on brighter colors like yellow. It could probably work with a bit of modification, though.
