All About Creating my Fursona
Today in stream I we were asked "how to create a Fursona" and over all, my biggest response is "Create something that feels like you, made of things you like, or thing you want. To eleborate, I went into a bit of detail of how and why Uluri is.
Usually it starts with what animal you'd like the character to be. Most people tend to pick an animal that they like, or find very similar with. (Some people even choose to create hybrids). Now, of all things I was most likely to pick, I didn't pick. I was known for drawing dragons and dinosaurs. I absolutely loved alligators, and I raised rabbits. I've never even seen or drawn a fox before I created Uluri. It was a random choice created as a fox, and I still don't know why. In all honesty, I was most likely to be a dragon, Pterodactyle, or raptor (Or even a frog). It is a mystery to me how it ended up this way. It is probably the reason I'm so easy on Uluri changing species, and even have alt species forms of her like Beast Form. But once you pick out the species, you go from there.
Next I will talk about her colors. This was the last thing that I decided on with Uluri. I added all her features first. Her original Pallet was Orange, Blue, and Yellow. Her current Pallet is Orange Green, and Yellow (Only recently changed). The colors absolutely all represent something very personal to me. Orange is my favorite color. And not just any orange, but the more yellow-orange hues. I've loved the color so much. Yellow is the color that I see in my mind when I hear my real name. A nice field of yellow. Blue was the color I felt like. It was a color was a feeling of my existence. Since then, this color is now Green. It's okay to change how I feel about myself, and I have to say that I do feel a lot more green than blue. I have even been slowly changing Uluri's color pallet from the time I created her to a more lighter and greener blue pallet. It was going to fade into green eventually in about two more pallet changes, but I recently decided to flip the switch incredibly fast. It kind of jostled a few of my poor watchers after being a blue for so long.
Together what these colors represent is a number of various things. Originally, with blue, yellow, orange, that color pallet to me was pretty big on lightning. Blue in my mind has always represented lightning. And the colors chosen with combo of blue and yellow was lightning. Orange just being a fox base. Her front and back paws are opposing colors to the color attached to the body to represent a foxes black socks that I really adored. However, Uluri's not much lightning, but static. And it was represented more with her fur jacket storing the static than the color blue (will talk about that later). And with that adding to the decision of no longer feeling blue, it turned green. This color combination of green, orange, and yellow has drastically changed her meaning in color combinations. This combo has always been around as a "Halloween pallet". Green, orange, and yellow I see as a Halloween pallet like pumpkins (which happens to be both my favorite holiday and favorite food flavor). It also reminds me of laying outside. My home is always green, there's always a yellow flower blooming almost all year around, and the sky is the prettiest in the mornings and afternoons. I sleep outside often.
The small patterns are simple lunar related things that I enjoy. The freckles on Uluri's face are full moons. As I enjoy starring at them. The ring is actually an eclipse. I was very happy to see my first eclipse when I was younger. The stripes are crescent moons. There are so many because crescents are my favorite. Especially the almost gone ones.
Her fur and body structure have been tailored very specifically. I'm a fan of big fluffy ears, so that's what she got. They've changed a bit over time, but have always been big and fluffy. Uluri has horns on her head, though made from fur like a Great Owl's horns are made of feathers. They are indeed still horns, and they are to show that despite being a cute fluff, she is still a beast. You can't always judge be the cute appearance. I've always been a fan of demons, too, but didn't think bone horns were appropriate. It was too obvious. I'm not evil, but a monster. Her "Fur Jacket" is meant to literally represent a jacket. It is not a neck fluff, but a full crop top jacket, that even has sleeves. I love jackets, and always wear one. It is super fluffy because of static electricity so that Uluri can use static magic. Not lightning, as that is too strong a voltage. I'm also a really cold person, and like to feel warm all the time. They make me feel comfortable, and also help hide the fact that my arms are extremely frail. (I look more intimidating for people to try to attack me). And overall, her body features are to represent clothing like on her human version here. As much as I like being nude, I also hate when people see my body. (because people like it.) I don't like that kind of attention. I like it when people approach me to be friends with me, not my body. Also, Uluri is small, because I love being small. I loved climging up walls, into trees without them braking, and being held and carried.
