meet namo and sukaze! namo is a twenty-something-year-old human, as well as the host to sukaze, the mask. sukaze comes from a society of magical mask creatures who control various powers, hers being control of the wind. the masks can't feel anything, and over the years, have developed a practice where they have themselves surgically implanted into a host. this allows them to feel everything that their host does. they can cut this connection off as they see fit, and can also send a variety of sensations (pain, pleasure, pretty much anything they want) to their host (though the masks themselves cannot feel these generated sensations). the masks have the ability to control their host if they wish. how often they do this is a personal choice, and depends on factors like the personalities of the host and mask, and the physical form of the host.

in addition to serving as their body, hosts act as servants to masks. the nature of this relationship, again, depends on the personalities of the mask and the host. hosts are almost universally servants, however, due to long-standing cultural attitudes and traditions. namo and sukaze represent the more positive side of this type of relationship. namo and sukaze genuinely like, or perhaps even love (though not in a romantic way) each other. although namo is sukaze's servant, she never really makes him do anything difficult. she is also very protective of him, and generally coddles and pampers him. her high position in society has lead her to act as nobility, and though she can be stern, she is generally fairly gentle in a regal, yet relaxed manner.

for his part, namo wants to make sukaze happy, seeing that as his goal in life. he is very laid back and lackadaisical, as well as generally self-confident. he likes to go to parties and try new things, not only because he finds it fun, but because sukaze will also likely enjoy the experience. he's been sukaze's host since he was a child, and sukaze's special treatment of him has left him ignorant to the crueler parts of the world. he's also a bit spoiled. he's a bit of a drinker, and has dabbled in illegal substances. despite this, sukaze tries to keep him healthy, prompting him to eat healthy foods, get regular checkups, and exercise. although she knows that she will outlive namo by a large margin, and will eventually be placed into a new host (as has happened before), she wishes to delay the inevitable as long as possible.
