As he arrived home, Daze sighed to himself, as his hand grasped the air in the pocket where his house key should have been. "It's gonna be one of these days again."
Stepping out of the car and taking a quick glance around the street, he confirmed no one was watching and felt less nervous. He didn't want to seem like he was breaking into his own house, but he'd have to find a way in somehow.
Unfortunately, the windows were both jammed tightly shut. The back gate was locked firm as well. As he checked for the spare key hiding under his door mat, he noticed something odd.
A flap was hanging off the bottom of his door, he instantly recognized it as one of those small flaps for pets to have easy access. But he had no recollection of installing one, so where did it come from?
The size of the flap seemed a bit larger than normal ones for small dogs...
Turning and looking once more at the empty street, he made sure the coast was clear. Quietly thinking to himself, "It might be a tight fit. But it looks to be my only way in..."
Laying down flat on his stomach, he pushed both his arms through the door, followed by his head, shoulders, elbows, sliding through with surprising ease.
As he pushed himself up off the floor of the entryway, he felt an intense dizzyness take over.
While standing up, he lost his balance and tripped over a piece of familiar fabric lying on the floor. Looking up, his house seemed somewhat larger than it used to be. And he still couldn't maintain his balance and fell back down onto his...hands? N-no... that's not right.
Daze slowly raised himself up off the floor, using the door to hold himself steady, as he rose on his two hind legs, his jeans dropped to his ankles. Revealing a short stubby corgi tail and a lower half covered entirely in a mix of tan and creamy white fur. Daze wasn't paying attention, he strugged to reach for the door handle as he was trying to get back outside to his car.
His mind slowly began to cloud though, as he questioned what he was doing. His claws scraping at the wooden door as he tip-toed on his paws. "I needed keys... what is a keys...?" His fluffy white snout grew out as each second passed, he sniffed the air as his head filled with thoughts of food, being groomed, waiting for his master...
"W-wait, is this my paw?"
It finally dawned on him that his body had changed.
The panic grew in his voice as he begged for the change to stop, all that came out was a series of whines, barks, and ruffs however. As he had already reached the final stage of his transformation.
Slowly the new corgi fell back down on all fours, shaking the unnecessary clothing off his body. He began to pant and excitedly scamper around the house.
