Hippos have a distinct look. I kind of put more of the feline aspect on her body because having lion arms and legs doesn't too as well in my eyes.
She's not the first or even the tenth Egyptian deity to be named by most, probably because of her unfamiliar look in the hieroglyphs. She's said to be fierce and protective yet motherly, sounds like a Hippo Mom to me.
