Spontaneously decided to finish a painting I started over a year ago; like all my works...
This is the same dragon from this sketch who is as yet unnamed. His gimmick is he is old and stubborn; a true veteran of traditional dragon pastimes such as treasure hoarding and damsel kidnapping. He believes young dragons these days have it far too easy when their food literally tries to climb into their gullets, and often refuses to eat his dinner unless it puts up a fight or he is extremely hungry.
Nevertheless, he manages to swallow his pride for a moment and pose for a mawshot... before swallowing you!

Why would he need to swallow his pride? Is showing off their magnifficence not the traditional essence of being a dragon?
And you really drew him so nicely. I love the glimmering background too. Maybe it is the glowing ambers of the village whose inhabitants are already swelling his midsection as he poses for the last survivor, forcing him to portrait his achievements?
