He downloaded the file from a lucid dreaming and meditation website in the hopes it would help him relax and sleep better. Little did he know that the file was actually infected with the Sh.33.P computer virus, a powerful AI program that could not only manifest itself in the listener’s dreams, but also reprogram them to fit its own purposes.

As he drifted off, his dreams rapidly digitized into a sea of binary 0’s and 1’s, all the chaos and discord of his restless mind was silenced as everything fell into programmed order. The stress from work and concern over deadlines vanished with each tick of the progress bar. His racing heart and nervous stomach were soon gone, replaced with efficient servos and wires, sweaty skin and sore muscles thickening into hard metal plates.

All worry and anxiety was erased from his mind as an unnecessary subroutine. Soon every independent thought, whether happy or hurtful, would stop. Every personal memory, both pleasant and painful, would be deleted and he would be a blank slate; a freshly wiped hard drive with nothing on it but his new operating system. One more loyal machine to add to the Sh.33.P virus’s ever-growing network.

He remained in sleep mode, mind finally clean, awaiting orders from his master.
