So for those of you who don't know there was a solar eclipse today that was visible in a large part of the contiguous United States. As I live in the right part of the country and have never seen a solar eclipse before I was quite excited. Plus, it'd make a great photo opportunity. That said, I had to get a bit creative to capture this shot. As pointing my camera directly at the sun would do nothing more than make me see spots, I took a pair of eclipse glasses and positioned them in front of the camera like a filter. This no doubt made me look like an idiot but as you can see it got the job done.
