Yeah, I heard the 99 years mentioned by several people yesterday as well, not sure where that number came from or if it was taken out of context. Anyway, just to let you know, there are two more solar eclipses in the US coming up in not too many years from now. An annular (ring of fire) solar eclipse will be in the southwest US in October, 2023, and a total one like the one we just had will occur on April 8, 2024, taking a different path across the US. Glad you got to see the one yesterday!
Set up my telescope to project the image onto a makeshift screen. Saw the entire thing from start to finish, had a lot of visitors checking it out. Got a number of fairly decent pictures of the projected image. Due to my location it was a partial for me; this was still cool but I might travel for the next one in 2024 so I can experience totality. Glad you got to see it, thanks for sharing the pics.
Mine experience was awesome because I could actually see it.
This was the third one I have experienced in my lifetime, although the first one really doesn't count because I was 1 year old and don't remember it..
The second time in 1979, it was cloudy and it was difficult to see.
