This piscivorous native of boreal riverways fears little and cares less. Its bulky size is it main defense, feeding its enormity with a steady diet of salmon and other fish. In good health, members of this species grow long brightly-colored facial feathers, signalling ownership of good territory and body, and causing even less to mess with them.
