I'm not sure if I'll draw this character again because my bright idea of giving her heart spots was not exactly time-friendly... but man... I still like the look of it...
Leana is a former Beauty Pageant Queen (2 wins, 17 runner-ups, 3 losses), retiring at the ripe old age of 22; she drifted through life for a while, working as a make-up artist, grocery-store clerk, model (mostly for catalogues involving housewares and stock images), and once she became a wife she took up amateur bee-keeping (she sold the honey at weekend flea-markets), a hobby she's continued to this day.
Recently she has returned to the world of Beauty Pageants as a Coach and Coordinator. She was hesitant at first, but when it became clear her daughter would never be pretty (skinny*) enough to compete, she threw herself headfirst into her job, and showering attention on the girls she scouts or are hired to assist.
*She had hoped her daughter would have the same slim & stacked figure she had originally sported before her pregnancy made her much fuller figured, but somehow her daughter was born chubby and never really lost it.
She acknowledges her daughter to be smart enough at school, but is sad she'll have a hard time being the fat girl with the big tits because people will only want to tease and exploit her obvious low self-image. She tries very hard to suggest diet programs and mother-daughter exercise regimes, but her daughter has either stubbornly refused (she'd rather study) or shown no significant results. She also acknowledges that her daughter is a better bee-keeper than she is, and with her new busy schedule, allows her daughter to sell the honey on her behalf. Her daughter is close to graduating, and she's not sure how to feel about her daughter's insistence on going to colleges that are so expensive and far away when perfectly good ones exist in town; one even recently got a pool!
Speaking of pools, she finds it hilarious that her husband's best friend is the neighbour's pool-cleaner... it's funny they connected some 3 years ago, since they don't have a pool (though she'd really like one, maybe next year, finally...?). But it is nice that they give each other back massages and go on bi-yearly gaycation (Guy-Vacation) cruises (as she likes to call them) together. Her husband has been very loyal, promising that he will not look at any other women while on these cruises, and most photos he shares involve no evidence of women being on these trips, putting Leana's mind at ease.
Her husband is the head of a local chain of supermarkets, coincidentally related to one of the judges Leana knew back during her Pageant days. They met when he was inspecting the store she was working in, and recognised her from some photos. She was struck by his handsomeness, gentle manner and politeness and swore the next day that she would marry him. It was a long courtship but eventually he said yes.
This is a special photo to remind her husband what he's missing while away from home.

I say it turned out marvelously though and the story is delightfully written and deep. It's something that can be relatable to others, whether you're the mother or the daughter in it, so to speak.
