Well, the sphinx got human head too but I'm sure the manticore has a human head...

while true; its not uncommon to find one with a feline head as well! Dungeons and Dragons/Magic the Gathering are ALWAYS lion/tiger heads!

Manticore's had long since struggled to find a purpose in life ever since the truth of their origins as living weapons was revealed. Hopefully sorcery...could aid in that purpose.
