The group of five left the meadow at dawn following day, as decided.
The travel was more or less eventless. Some predator insects got a bit close, attracted by three children "stripes" and a grasshopper, but like Sting guessed, as soon as they saw the gigantic hornet with them, they turned heel and scrammed.
Eventually, the end of day came, and the group decided to halt for the night.
But while the normal-sized insects took out the reserves of food, they suddenly realized they hadn't thought about the needs of their huge companion.
"Don't worry, I'm not hungry," he reassured them.
"But you ate nothing since yesterday!" protested Flip.
"I know. I think that weird honey is also enough to keep me fed longer than usual. It's really..."
He suddenly stopped talking as an uneasy expression crossed his face.
"Dad? You're okay?" worried Sting.
"Yeah, I'm fine," answered his oversized father. "I just feel... weird. Like..."
He once again stopped talking, as he realized he was growing again.
Under the astonished eyes of the others, the hornet saw the trees around him go from slightly above him to reaching his neck, then his waist, then his knees, then his ankles...
The bulges in all his body swelled with even more mass and power, bulging more than before...
When he stopped growing, he was now as gigantic compared to what he had been barely a few minutes earlier, as said what he had been was to his normal size.
And it felt so impossibly good, better than before, all this size and strength gave him so much pleasure...
A pleasure that shared its place with amusment as he managed to see, even though they were now almost microscopical next to him, the astonished expressions Flip, Sting, Maya and Willy had.
"Well, looks like the trip just became much easier," he commented with a laugh.
