With the circles and wording around him, he looks less like an alchemist and more like a philosopher or an alchemist truth be told. I do however, have to say that I'm liking the gold that happened to be in this. It makes the picture seem scholarly, which... naturally is the theme here. (Hence the title after all.)
The old gives him that.. old yet wise look. Adding to that the quill that's in his right hand and well... it suits him.
Personally speaking, I like the picture and the theme here. Mainly because it's an idea that this site needs so.. SO very badly...
