Even though I'm a little late for "Throwback Thursday", I just had to post this unique 'photo-op', taken on July 2, 2017 (less than a week after my return from New York)...
Among the animals I have a fascination with are otters (river and sea alike). I recall seeing my first mustelids at the Monterey Bay Aquarium, during the Summer of 1988. Since then, I'd also seen them at such facilities as the Palm Beach Zoo in Dreher Park (West Palm Beach, FL), ZooMiami (Miami, FL), and the (now defunct) Sea World (in Aurora, OH).
Naturally, said fascination led to my acquiring all sorts of otter-related merchandise - including rubber stamps, PVC figurines, postcards and greeting cards, and (especially) plush figures...
Not too long ago, my amigo (and former "Fur Affinity" member)
Funimal managed to find (at a Broward County flea market) a two-foot-tall anthropomorphic otter plush figure, dressed up like a pirate (replete with striped shirt, cap and earring), and gave it to me as a gift. Since then, I hadn't been able to capture this moment for posterity... until I returned to Margate, Florida (following the wedding of my niece Corynne - as explained in my multi-chaptered journal "Return to New York").
With a few unexposed shots left on my disposable camera, I'd asked Funimal to take a picture of me with said otter pirate plushie. I'd even dressed up for the snapshot, wearing a green T-shirt adorned with sea otters (one of several otter-related garments from my wardrobe).

Considering how generic this particular plushie is, I'd assumed that it was originally one of those prizes given away at a 'game of chance' venue in an amusement park (such as the "Pop The Balloon" [with the dart] game, or tossing a basketball into the [deceptively] elliptical hoop)!
