I almost wish I could've joined you for this one. I could've told you the guy wasn't Catholic or Baptist, though mainly due to his portrayal of how Purgatory works. It just seems backwards to me, especially from a Christian standpoint. I just don't see why it would work the way his comic portrays it.

Yeah we had a few discussions about possibly bringing somebody more familiar with the Christian faith on, but ultimately didn't see how it'd be a net benefit. Dave's always had very strange views on the inner workings of the afterlife in his comics that don't even remain internally consistent within themselves it seems. It's one of the things that ultimately made Ed go "Well....this is actually pretty shit. I'm done with this."

Agreed. Though I may not see the flaws as much as you guys do, I know they're there. And I can tell you right now that the whole reincarnation thing ain't Biblical so far as I understand it. Finding redemption in hell, or at least from it? Sure. It's possible, even if the odds aren't good. But reincarnation is an Eastern thing; it's not part of any Judeo-Christian faith that I'm aware of.

But I digress. If you ever would like to have me on the show sometime, I'd be honored. I don't know how entertaining I'd be, but I'd be willing to show up, time permitting.
