Along the Grand Line, countless pirates try their luck to gain the legendary One Piece and claim the title of Pirate King. While most are youngsters, one can actually see that the very first ship that set sail was the Jolly Roger, recognisable with its skull and bones at the characteristic stern. Her captain is James Hook, whom we all know as the dark man living in a timeless magic world of dream. Actually he came back to claim what his own former cabin boy Gol D. Roger created! While not having any super powers, he ate a Devil's Fruit of the Paramecia category which allowed him to separate his mortal lifetime from his body and place it into a vessel. By accident it turned out to be a HUGE crocodile which ever since follows him, as his time is running out and after him... getting to close will end his existance immediately as he is by know far older then any human being can age to.

For that, Hook in the One Piece world would be dressed more pompous and old fashioned then the other pirates, would talk more baroque, his ship is different in construction. Otherwise, he and his pirates are a (un)living nightmare for the Marine, as they are really, really mean and psychotic criminals who give no quarter whatsoever.
