They don't. Only if their pancreas goes out. But cats and dogs really do! The vets say animals that stray from what they normaly eat and become morbidly obease can get it! Let him have the cake! He'll take it anyway! They say only the female polar bear hibernates. Don't know if happens in the other bear species.
