After working with a robotic cat to prevent a train robbery, Daniel Blackwater is soon pulled into a different kind of war. A cult based on the long dead Teutonic Knighthood actively hunts this robotic cat, named Mattias, or, moreover, the large, magical diamond that powers him. Daniel must choose a side in this war and then stick to it. Receiving help from long time friend Mary Ravenhurst, they are chased around the world to find help to destroy the Slavic Order of Teutonic Knights, put a demonic leader to death and banish his undead army and its black general back to the pits of hell.
