Spike may be gentle hearted, but what happens when he's threaten outweighs that. Usually driven to protect his domain and friends, he still becomes incredibly dangerous to anyone and anything near him when in this state. But in a properly organised battle, he's the strongest ally and asset for which anyone could hope.
