Continuing the final edition of "Throwback Thursday" for last day of August, 2017, I have another 'photo-op' taken in lower Manhattan (back on June 23, 2017, when my brother Glenn and I took a long walk to get to the Freedom Tower)...
Just outside the tall building is the 9-11 Memorial, two giant squares where the twin towers of the World Trade Center once stood. Engraved on the outskirts of each square are the names of the nearly 3,000 victims of the tragedy that occurred at this spot on September 11, 2001 (as well as those who'd perished in Washington, D.C. and western Pennsylvania on the same day). In the center of each memorial is a smaller square hole, where the water runs down into.
I took a picture of one of the squares, before Glenn and I went into the Freedom Tower, to take in the 'Observation Deck' near the top of the skyscraper...
For a more thorough description of our stroll through Manhattan, go to my journal "Return to New York" Part Three - https://www.furaffinity.net/journal/8294880/ - and read all about it.
