I like to imagine the Ripper just constantly complaining in a quiet, mild voice "Hey guy, what is this, I don't like being upside down or held in one spot for that matter, jeez, all the blood is rushing to my head and now I'm dizzy and it would be great if you could let me go" And so on for hours until you finally get sick of him and set him free.
That chin is not meant for coffee to hit, it's meant for the fists of the entire world to hit.
For all the beatings he takes, you'd think that he wouldn't look as comely as he does. A human punching bag like him should have a permanent black eye and gashes all over his face.
