Tinker was a combat engineer with Howlrunner Company, a detachment of the 501st Legion. He was skilled in various technical skills, such as vehicle maintenance, hacking into enemy systems, shutting down enemy defenses, etc... He survived up until the final moments of the Clone Wars when he took part in the raid on the Jedi Temple as part of Operation Knightfall. When he was placing demolition charges in parts of the Jedi Archives, a Jedi Knight ran their blade through him, but with his last breath, Tinker activated the explosives he set as well as those still on him.
