A magical mistake that might one day lead to the end of the world as we know it. Introducing the Linglings! Once a mistake from a failed Mirror Image attempt by Ling, these now magical fennecs are a complete (Adorable) menace. They survive from attention. Petting, acknowledging them, even seeing them, gives them energy. They technically don't need to eat, but they do enjoy that as well. On top of that, once a day, they have the ability to use a lesser version of the failed Mirror Image spell to duplicate themselves.
The Linglings are highly curious creatures, and enjoy doing things that cause attention. As such, they tend to mimic what they see. Be it on games, movies, soldiers heading off to war, even just wildlife and other things. If it draws attention from something else, they will duplicate it themselves to various degrees of success.
