I mean, years ago we got at least one pic of Kuro eating Nae out, so I think the intention is for them to eventually end up together. Plus we already watched her masturbate, so I don't think sexuality is off the table, not do I think it should be. It's as much a part of the world as violence is. Despite that, though, I don't think Kuro's the type to take advantage of a woman in such a formalized situation. I feel like he'd rather actually earn someone's affection than simply purchase the physical act. Dude is big and looks tough, but he's really a big teddy bear.

I'm going with everyone else on the idea of the moonblood being some form of birth control or sterilization potion. The hand maidens are being deliberately vague, the fact that the potion is expensive, using the word "unwanted", which brings to mind of "unwanted pregnancy", and the use of red in the last panel all suggests it to me. Now the real question is: Will Nae drink it? Does she want to drink it?

Are the maids a millipede and an ant? And thus wingless and of a lower caste? :D I love consistency in the background.

She had sex 'maybe' with another girl so no need to drink something to prevent something from happening that didn't.

But because of protocol and polite society as well as secrets that cannot be told, now Nae must drink a foul expensive mixture that cannot be drunk but is extremely expensive, and will make everyone question you to understand the secrets you cannot reveal that everyone but the person's secret helps would understand.

But; then more questions would arise that she cannot know how to reveal, an inquest would be begun, then incrimination accusations and within an originally matriarchal society become a patriarchal society based not upon etiquette anymore but honor, would demand executions and to save face from all the secrets revealed Nae and everyone involved would have to commit hari kiri to save their honor! as well as everyone else must be executed so that the divine emperor can save face that this even happened during his reign!

I highly doubt that Kurohasu and Nae are actually going to...do something, but either way I am extremely curious as to how this goes from here.

7th panel, the quirked lip, one of nae's better expressions Ive seen, funny enough.

forgive me if I'm speaking out of turn Whitemantis, but for those curious; in older, more traditional Japanese times (I'm not sure about now), it was expected of maiko and geisha to entertain their customers. This usually involved performances of the dance variety, but it was also not unusual for sexual acts to happen either. In fact, sometimes, when a maiko was going to be promoted to geisha, the teaching geisha would 'give away' the maiko to a man so that he could have sex with her if he desired, as it was considered a part of the training.
I'm not sure how it works in this universe, or how strict the comic is with Japanese tradition, but it wouldn't be unusual or out of place if Nae were to have physical relations with Kuro.
Anywho, I'm really enjoying the comic so far Whitemantis! The amount of detail and overall quality that goes into this project is really something, and I hope to see it continue to the very end. Even so far, there are a lot of questions and curiosities that have me come ing often for every new page.
