I went to draw a hyena today and didn't like my reference montage, so I made a new one. The "hyena sitting on a plane" here is what inspired the "At some point..." story. 83

They have an incredible digestive system. It is said in some local tales that their stomach holds a fire that burns everything to ash, they extract so much nutrients from their food.

They are specialized bone cracking carnivores. They, Tasmanian Devils and wolverines serve as body disposals in different climes though The Wolverine Foundation says wolverines can't digest bones, whereas hyenas definitely can and I think Tassies can too.

i feel sorry for male hyenas their life consist of practical luxury till they mature then they get exiled, have to go through near lethal hazing to join a new group just so they can just barely avoid starving to death daily for an extremely slim chance of making it to being top male when that can finally mate

It's not easy being a wild animal. You have to work every day or starve and there's usually something trying to kill you.

So, not that different from being human, just a lot less freedom. Work and Make money, or Starve, try not to look like you have money when going out or you might get mugged/killed. (Sometimes still happens to people anyway)

Sure enough, it seems I didn't upload it. I must have decided it wasn't good enough, I have about three montages for every one I upload.

That is some good lighting in that clip. So much wildlife photography is dark or out of focus.

I just noticed something.

I cant seem to see or find dewclaw in hyenas. Do they lack actual dewclaws??
