I've been feeling like I'm being held back by something that won't let me improve as much as I want to. I think, it could be the fact that I still have been using lineart as a major part of my drawings, because I sometimes spend a ridiculous amount of time on it and I have painting skills that can work without lineart. I've been really simplifying my lineart in the past few months too. I really like lined and cell shaded drawings, but I don't cell shade, I paint the shading. I have tried to cell shade before but I didn't think I did it right, so I ended up painting the shading.
Maybe, it's time for me to not work so hard on the linework and just refine my painting skills, idk tho, there's a lot about painting that I don't know how to do

A little while ago, I posted in the forums asking people where they think I can improve, and everyone mentioned that I don't use enough contrast in my drawings. That problem definitely stems from the fact that I've been using a broken tv as a monitor for almost 2 years, like the tv randomly changes the hues and the brightness, so I'm never sure about the colors I use. Yeah, I really need to replace it

I tried to up the contrast in this picture and the darkest areas of this drawing displays as pure black blockiness to me lmao

Anyways, this guy is one of the feral forms that my character, Death, has. Its such a pain to draw because the snout curves down at the bridge and up at the nose, kind've like a banana, and his neck puffs out wider than his head is
