ArtRage. I'm not sure whether I like this more or less with the layer of highlights. Here's without, tell me what you think: http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b.....corvtotems.png
Shading sure is easier with layers, though.

That's what I was thinking, too, about the style making them unnecessary. I've always had a clash in my artwork about whether to focus on lines or dull them down and go with more intense shading. I still do to this day, haha. |D I'll figure out a nice compromise one day, I hope.
This is actual size. for the lines, I zoomed in once and used the pencil with precise turned on and the size at 1%, pressure at 72%, softness at 0, and tilt angle at 25%. The way I've always done lines is apparently bizarre, though I thought everyone did it this way until last year when I was told otherwise: I have a trembly hand, so I basically just make hundreds of tiny, jackhammery, back-and-forth dashes, and then take an eraser and clean any "overspray." The colouring is all done with the pencil tool, too, just at different sizes.
I'm not at all familiar with totem poses, but I do like it, and I like the mellow, sincere look on her face too |D
The image won't load for me on PB :C But I really love the shading on this, it reminds me of the frosted glass effect you get on Photoshop, but the fact you did yourself by hand makes it all the more great 8D

Totem's a chat site, it's kinda hard for me to explain in any short manner, but easy to grasp after looking around it for a few minutes. TO TAKE A SHOT AT IT, it's kinda like an interactive.. sticker book? THERE'S A BACKGROUND IN THE CHAT ROOMS, like a scene, right? And you have a clear background image that represents you, that you can drag around the background. Wow, I'm doing an even worse job of explaining this than I thought I would. |D HERE: totemlands.com
Such a nice expression, and I like the design as a whole. The front talons are given a very feral look in how she's positioned at the moment, but they obviously have a thumb configuration anatomically. At least, I hope what I said there was all accurate, or else this is gonna look bad, hahah. Either way, love it. :)
