"She was the first I one I should have gone for. I read that no one was able to find her, so I left her for last while she was safe. When I found her though, she had learned a grim secret I wasn't even aware of. I walked through the brush looking for her, and then I started to hear her, sulking. I walked up but she took no notice, she had her face buried in her arms while her tail stared the statue of a doe.
I had to look back at the pages just to understand what happened.
She did hide well during the fray, making her way as far as possible to the stay safe. As she went further out though, she slowed down and looked around, to try and figure out where she was going. That's when she saw a deer looking back, it made her smile just to talk back to it. She already adored it. "Hey, keine Angst." She said and slowly get up. "Ich werde dir nicht weh tun, ich bin einfach nur verloren." She held out a hand and it even got closer to her.
Then the snake tail of hers rose up and looked at it too. It looked back and then it happened. Starting at the hooves, the deer panicked as it turned to stone.
"Oh mein Gott, was ist los?" She shouted and got closer to it as the back legs were becoming granite. "Wie ist das passiert? Wie habe ich das gemacht?"
It fell over crying out as it struggled against its paralyzed legs, but soon it was stuck on the ground as nothing more than stone. Died by her her hands.
It was horrible, but it gave me more than one reason to help her now. So when I approached her I started out with what she needed too hear. "You never learned this could happen."
She paused
"There's no way to change it, but there's a way to control it." I said "And I want to show you."
She looked up past the tears in her eyes. "Was? Was bist du?" Her snake head looked too, but I avoided it.
"I'm Adept, and like you, I'm not the most normal either."
Her eyes turned to the "Das wollte ich nicht!" She cried into her hands again "Ich bin kein Monster!"
"You're not, Neither of us are monsters." I held out my hand "Come with me, and you won't have to feel that way."
She looked again, and then she took may hand.
They were all safe now, and soon they could meet in a more comfortable home."
